MODEL UNITED NATIONS CONFERENCE A HUGE SUCCESS

ETSS Wicklow created a Model United Nations Conference for Junior Cycle students from many schools in Ireland - on Friday 16 April, students chaired debates, ran a press team and represented 32 countries as delegates in a busy day of learning about international relations. Minister Simon Harris and  Emer  Nowlan, CEO Educate Together, were guest speakers at the opening ceremony and inspired the students with stories of their own learning about politics as young people. This innovative Model United Nations project managed to capture the traditional energy and productivity of real-life conferences in a dynamic virtual environment where students promoted and opposed various resolutions and looked for solutions to world problems.
